One of several quaint towns in Switzerland and one I’m quite fond of, since I grew up here, Neuchâtel remains a place I love to visit.
Renowned for its watch industry, Neuchâtel has been able to position itself as the heart of micro-technology and high-tech industry. No wonder my father chose this region to settle down in the late 1980s. Neuchâtel is the city and also name of 1 of 26 cantons in Switzerland (the 21st to be precise),
NEUCHATEL OR « NEUCH » TO THOSE WHO KNOW
On a recent visit home, I had the chance to stroll the streets and discover the beauty of its architecture, very typical for this region.

No visit to the heart of this town would be complete without a mandatory stop to enjoy chocolate in some kind of way. Follow Swiss Miss!

First perhaps a « canapé » or typical savory snack, with a « ramequin » one of made of cheese. Ah yes, another Swiss specialty…
Or tea time at my favorite place in town, Au Moka…
Then time to meet my little brother for an « apero » in « Place du Marche » at one of our favorite places « Au Charlot ».
A little stroll in town and more views including painted murals, both artistic in a conventional way or graffiti, that all mix well.

Not always the case but this day was filled with sun and mild weather. Actually perfect for a nice walk home.

It was great to be home in this lovely town. Until next time Neuch and little brother!
