A resort town in the Sonoran Desert about 100 miles east of Los Angeles, Palm Springs was a place I always wanted to visit.
What a surprise I got! The most shocking sight was the lack of grass… this is the desert and the dry, arid climate can be felt everywhere. The little that I saw of this desert town (the weekend consisted more of catching up with great friends in a beautiful mid-century designed home) was what was in our neighborhood: flat, dry, arid, cactus-like and at the foot of several mountains.
Mid-century architecture could be seen almost everywhere and it is my favorite!
We discovered briefly the heart of town which is tiny but charming and historical nonetheless.
The house we rented was actually the biggest treat of all. Spending quality time with amazing friends in a beautiful setting, what more could you ask for! Oh and of course having Marcel our furry friend around was even a bigger treat.
We were really lucky to have our good pal Marcel the papillon with us.
It was hard to decide if we were happier inside with all the great decoration or outside in the balmy, desert sun.
The light differed greatly from sunrise to sunset and with our jet lag, we gladly woke up early to discover the sights.
I have to say that this was definitely a town to feast your eyes on. Stay beautiful Palm Springs!
